Get Codemus up and running on your Mac.

⚠️ Important: Claude Code CLI Subscription Required

Codemus requires Claude Code CLI to function, and Claude Code CLI requires an active Claude subscription. You cannot use Codemus without a valid Claude subscription.

Claude Code CLI is a separate application that provides the AI inference backend for Codemus. It is not included with Codemus and must be installed separately.

System Requirements

  • Operating System: macOS 14.0 (Sonoma) or later
  • Processor: Apple Silicon (M1, M2, M3, or later)
  • Memory: 8GB RAM minimum (16GB recommended)
  • Storage: 1GB for application + space for project data
  • ⚠️ Required: Claude Code CLI installed and configured
    • Claude Code CLI requires an active Claude subscription
    • You must have a valid Claude account with an active subscription
    • Codemus will not function without Claude Code CLI

Installing Claude Code CLI

Step 1: Get a Claude Subscription

Before installing Claude Code CLI, you must have an active Claude subscription. Visit claude.ai to sign up or manage your subscription.

Step 2: Install Claude Code CLI

Once you have an active subscription, visit claude.ai/code to download and install Claude Code CLI.

Step 3: Configure in Codemus

After installation, make sure the CLI is in your PATH or configure the path in Codemus Settings → CLI. Codemus will verify that Claude Code CLI is accessible and properly configured.

First Launch

When you first launch Codemus, you'll see a Welcome Wizard that guides you through:

  1. Introduction to Codemus
  2. Core concepts (agents, sprints, artifacts)
  3. CLI configuration
  4. Creating your first project
  5. Tips and keyboard shortcuts
